Join us at Yardbird on Wednesday, May 23rd as we celebrate the launch of our first book: Chicken and Charcoal — Yakitori, Yardbird, Hong Kong, published by Phaidon. In the book, Chef Matt Abergel puts the spotlight on yakitori – the time-honored Japanese cooking in which chicken skewers are grilled over binchotan charcoal and enjoyed together with a glass of beer, a shot of sake, or a delicious cocktail. Much more than a cookbook, however, Chicken and Charcoal has its own unique style and strong visual references by artist Evan Hecox, revealing the magic behind Yardbird’s food + drinks as well as the story of where the restaurant started, how it grew, and where it is today.
