Tokyo’s Michelin stars for 2017 have been revealed, so if you needed another excuse to visit Japan’s capital, the food is definitely it. The city boasts more Michelin stars than any other city in the world.

Tokyo has a total of 227 establishments with one or more stars while Osaka has 96. To put it in perspective, Europe’s food capital, Paris, has 92 Michelin-starred restaurants.

Japan’s capital has 12 restaurants with three stars, 54 with two stars, and 161 with one star. The 2017 guide has added 66 new restaurants to their list.
