The RŌNIN team has partnered with streetwear mainstay, Carhartt WIP, on a limited edition 3-piece collection. Inspired by Carhartt WIP’s iconic roots as a workwear brand, this collaboration features a Chef’s Apron, Chef’s Work Shirt, and a Classic Cotton Tee – to be worn both in and outside of the kitchen.

Exclusively available at RŌNIN and Yardbird in Hong Kong, as well as through sundaysgrocery.com, this collection pays tribute to Carhartt WIP’s humble beginnings by reworking industry staples to reflect the modern needs of both professional and at-home cooks. Chef Matt Abergel worked closely with the brand’s design team to create three unique pieces that reference traditional Japanese Chef and sport uniforms, with form following function. Each piece in the collection is carefully crafted to the high standards of both Carhartt WIP and of Chef Abergel and his team at RŌNIN.

“I have always looked at cooking as a trade and as a craft. Learning through experience, repetition, history, and tradition. Carhartt WIP has always produced clothing for the trades, and while it has evolved with time, they still respect tradition and history. It was a very natural fit to work with Carhartt WIP for our uniforms – we as a restaurant are always trying to make improvements and get better everyday. Always a work in progress.” – Matt Abergel
